Abstract
This dossier presents a set of investigations that address recent developments in the fields of archaeology and ethnography in a region of vital historical and cultural importance. This issue, coordinated by Wilhelm Londoño, Full Professor of Anthropology in the Faculty of Humanities at the Universidad del Magdalena, brings together a series of contributions interconnected by the exploration of the political, sociocultural, and ecological dynamics that have defined the Caribbean over the centuries. The diversity of approaches and themes that make up this dossier reflects both the richness of the region and the contemporary challenges faced by anthropology in constructing the past and alterity.
