Social sciences and regional literature in education of the new millennium

Abstract

In this paper the strengthening of the past and present, both in social science and literature of the Caribbean Region, based on the legal foundation that gives us the 1991 Constitution, the Education Act and the fundamentals arises for the educaci6n the future posed by Edgar Morin. From these criteria the critical study of the socio-cultural environment arises in two dimensions (social sciences and literature), to understand and grasp the world and forgotten Caribbean dammed by official institutions. For this purpose, it is proposed to include in the curriculum a Caribbean chair that allows the Caribbean man recognize himself and face the challenges of the new millennium.
