Abstract

Colombian archeology has faced several challenges related to the growing development of infrastructure, a legislation that seeks to protect the Archaeological Heritage of the Nation but seems outdated of the current reality and a disarticulation between the processes of disciplinary training and the needs of the country today. These difficulties led the University of the North and the Colombian Association of Professional Archaeologists - ACARP, to convene in 2016 a new congress of archeology for Colombia.
