Abstract

Within the purpose to obtain gonophores of hydrozoans for taxonomic research, in a quick and simple way colonies of hydroids were moved from their original habitats in the rocky shores to a control point  with distinct environmental conditions, mainly water in movement.  The experiment resulted in an induction of the formation of gonophores in the hydroids Halecium sp., Plumularia habereri and Macrorhynchia allmanii.
