Abstract

In order to provide a useful tool for knowledge of the ant fauna of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (Colombia) we present dichotomous keys for the identification of 23 species of ants of the genus Ectatomma,Gnamptogenys, Leptogenys, Odontomachus and Pachycondyla, as well as images for easy recognition of these species. For the genera of ants Acanthoponera, Heteroponera, Typhlomyrmex, Anochetus, Platythyrea, and Thaumatomyrmex, we record the only species known to this region of the country.
