Abstract

The phytochemistry aspects, botanist uses and activity of the Menispermaceae family, standing out the useof the family in the medicine folkloric, the different types of present secondary metabolites in some fromthe species and their pharmacologic activity. One stands out in the family the presence of alkaloids, terpenoids,butenolides and flavonoids. The family Menispermaceae is related to our Colombian flora reason why itbecomes object of study necessary to acquire the knowledge of it Chemotaxonomy, the relation that presentswith the field of the health and the possible development like source of secondary metabolites with possiblepharmacologic activity.
