Resumen

La globalización exige a las empresas diseñar estrategias que le permitan afrontar los cambios del mercado, para poder competir. Los proveedores son parte fundamental de la cadena de abastecimiento, por lo que administrar las relaciones creará ventajas competitivas y el logro de los objetivos estratégicos para todos los participantes de la cadena. Este trabajo busca identificar cuáles son los atributos de la relación proveedor - vendedor y que prácticas empresariales promueven el éxito del desarrollo de proveedores. La obtención y recolección de datos se centró en la búsqueda de literatura académica en el tema, revisando y contrastando diferentes aportes, reconociendo aspectos claves del desarrollo de proveedores. El desarrollo de proveedores está compuesto entonces, por unos elementos que caracterizan la relación entre comprador y vendedor y que determinarán si estas relaciones son exitosas, a su vez; el mejoramiento conjunto dependerá también, de los procesos de promoción de esta estrategia.
