Abstract

During 2000-2001 monthly sampling in The Manzanares, Gaira, Cordoba and Toribio rivers, northwestern slope of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, were carried out in order to obtain knowledge about  physico-chemical, hydrological and biological characteristics.  A total of 83 genera included in 64 families of aquatic macroinvertebrates were collected.  This diversity it is result of environmental heterogeny and physicochemical and hydrological factors
