Abstract

Abstract This investigation was designed to determine the relationship between Knowledge Management and Competitiveness in the area of research and production of private University colleges and institutes, based on the principles of Halal (2006), Toffler (1998), Alvarez (2000) Carrión (2006), Espinoza (1998), Quintas (1997), among others. Methodology, the study was framed as an descriptive investigation, of field, correlational under a nonexperimental design, descriptive trans. For purposes of this study population was composed of four (4) coordinating the research and production units of the colleges in Maracaibo Municipality, such as College Dr. Rafael Belloso Chacin (CUNIBE) Readic Institute of Technology ( READIC), Instituto Universitario Jesús Enrique Lozada (IUJEL), and Bishop College of Talavera (CUMT). As data collection technique was used by direct observation survey in the form questionnaire. Using two questionnaires which will consist of items whose answers are given by four alternative answers: Strongly Agree (TA), partial agreement (PA), neither agree nor disagree (NAND), Mostly Disagree (PD) and Strongly Disagree (TD). The validity of the instruments was obtained by the trial of ten (10) experts, with a reliability of 0.72. The results were that knowledge management is very efficient and competitive in the area of Research and Production Private university colleges and institutes was demonstrated with very high level.
