Abstract
Abstract The essay´s purpose is to summarize the different perspectives, theoretical and methodological, that have been used regarding social movements in the contemporary era. The essay begins with the study of the concept of ´social mass´ and closes with the structural analysis of the emergent social movements in the twentieth century.This journal provides an open access to its content, based on the principle of offering the public free access to research, helping to increase global knowledge exchange. Likewise, the printed version is freely accessible and has no associated costs per publication.
