Resumen

Food supply chains (FSCs) were disrupted by measures implemented to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. These measures led to disruptions such as labor shortages, export and import restrictions, and transport constraints, increasing global poverty and food insecurity. This study proposed a taxonomy of resilience strategies for addressing COVID-19 pandemic disruptions in FSCs. The review focused on identifying COVID-19 impacts, response strategies, and public policies developed by governments and institutions to deal with the COVID-19 disruptions. The study then classified the resilience strategies into strategic fields, sustainability drivers, resilience capabilities, and supply chain stages. The strategic fields were defined using keywords extracted from the literature review. The research identified four key strategic fields, where most resilience strategies were implemented: digital transformation, sustainable production, collaborative governance, and short FSC. Our taxonomy provided a framework of resilience strategies for facing supply chain disruptions, showing relations and synergies between categories. The taxonomy could facilitate decision-making when responding to future disruptions, like pandemics or natural disasters, in FSC.
