CALL FOR PAPERS - REPATRIATION OF COLONIAL COLLECTIONS TO THE CARIBBEAN

This call invites researchers and academics from all areas of social sciences and humanities to submit their work for a special issue of Jangwa Pana dedicated to the repatriation of colonial collections in the Caribbean. This issue will feature Dr. Shani Roper, curator of the University of the West Indies Museum, as guest editor. Dossier temático Arqueodiseño: removiendo proyectos y excavaciones  La arqueología y el diseño modernos/contemporáneos plantean prácticas y dispositivos positivistas y canónicos que capturan y controlan tanto pasados/recuerdos (más la arqueología, pero también el diseño), como futuros/deseos (más el diseño, pero también la arqueología) de los grupos humanos, suprimiendo la diferencia y por tanto cooptando divergencias e intentos emancipatorios.

Jangwa Pana, Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, warmly invites submissions of original research in English for consideration in Volume 24 (2025). As part of Unimagdalena Editorial’s strategic initiative to broaden the international reach of our publications, we are offering an expedited editorial process for manuscripts submitted in English. This initiative aims to significantly shorten the review and evaluation periods. Papers that successfully pass our rigorous double-blind peer review will be expedited for publication in the upcoming issue.   Submissions must fully comply with the quality and ethical standards detailed in the journal’s guide for authors. While this call emphasizes submissions in English to expand our global audience, contributions in Spanish — the journal's primary language — continue to be crucial and highly valued.   Submissions in English should include a statement verifying the authors’ proficiency in scientific writing in English or a certificate confirming that the manuscript has been translated or reviewed by a certified professional in academic English writing.
