Abstract
Economic progress and progress in improving the living conditions of societies have been linked to various elements such as the efficient use of the endowments of productive factors, institutional characteristics and the capacities for interaction in the markets, but especially to the use of knowledge and the generation of science as increasingly necessary elements to creatively insert themselves in global value chains.
